A remarkable tribute to American naval history brings together a Ruger 250th Anniversary 1911, reclaimed materials from Old Ironsides, historic artifacts, and exceptional American craftsmanship.
More than 200 years of naval history. One legendary American warship. A one-of-a-kind collection honoring generations of service.
As America celebrates 250 years of independence, an extraordinary heirloom display brings together preserved materials from USS Constitution, historical artifacts, and the work of American craftsmen in a tribute to the United States Navy.
This unique presentation includes a Ruger 250th Anniversary 1911, a hand-carved solid oak chest, reclaimed ship wood and copper, and an original newspaper dating to 1797.
Each piece tells part of the story. Together, they connect America’s early naval history with the generations who have preserved its legacy.

Old Ironsides: More Than Two Centuries of American History
Launched in Boston on October 21, 1797, USS Constitution was one of six original frigates authorized under the Naval Act of 1794.
The ship earned her famous nickname, “Old Ironsides,” during the War of 1812, when British cannon fire reportedly bounced off her heavy wooden hull during an engagement with HMS Guerriere.
More than two centuries later, Constitution remains one of America’s most recognizable symbols of naval heritage.
Her story extends beyond battles and victories. It also belongs to the sailors who served aboard her and the generations who worked to preserve the historic vessel.
That enduring legacy provides the foundation for this remarkable collection.

A Ruger 1911 with a Remarkable Historical Connection
At the center of the collection is a Ruger 250th Anniversary 1911, commemorating America’s 1776–2026 milestone.
What distinguishes this firearm is its custom grips, hand-carved by master craftsman Terry Fant from reclaimed USS Constitution deck planks.
The preserved wood creates a tangible connection to one of America’s most celebrated warships, bringing material from the historic frigate into a modern commemorative firearm.
Fant’s craftsmanship is also represented in a custom knife featuring a handle made from reclaimed USS Constitution wood.
Together, these pieces connect two distinct periods of American history through preserved materials and contemporary craftsmanship.

An Extraordinary Hand-Carved Oak Presentation
The collection is housed in a custom solid oak presentation chest created by master craftsman Glen Dean.
Its defining feature is a hand-carved depiction of USS Constitution in the lid, complemented by additional naval-themed relief carvings.
A lower drawer incorporates a cribbage board, a thoughtful reference to the traditions and camaraderie associated with life at sea.
Dean’s craftsmanship transforms the chest into an important part of the collection itself, creating a setting worthy of the historical materials and commemorative pieces it contains.

Preserved Copper and a Newspaper from 1797
The collection’s connection to USS Constitution extends beyond the reclaimed wooden components.
Challenge coins incorporating copper reclaimed from the ship add another element of preserved naval history. Ten medallion display stands are included within the presentation.
Perhaps one of the most intriguing historical additions is an original newspaper dated June 14, 1797.
Published just months before USS Constitution was launched, the newspaper offers a direct connection to the era in which the young United States was establishing its naval presence.
Preserved in a leather portfolio, this document complements the collection’s reclaimed materials and commemorative craftsmanship.

A One-of-a-Kind Tribute to American Service
The collection is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, documenting the creator’s commitment that the complete assembly will not be recreated or duplicated with the creator’s authorization.
For collectors, the significance extends beyond any individual component.
The combination of a commemorative firearm, reclaimed materials from USS Constitution, original period documentation, and custom American craftsmanship creates a presentation that bridges multiple generations of American history.
It is a tribute not only to a legendary ship but also to the sailors, veterans, families, and craftsmen whose contributions continue to shape the nation’s story.
