For almost 70 years, the Blaser name has been associated with high-end hunting rifles. When someone pulls one of their rifles out of the case, you know immediately upon seeing the name that this person is serious both about the guns they own and the hunting that they pursue.
Perhaps that’s why it is altogether fitting for there to be a Blaser rifle in the December Collector’s Elite Auctions.
Blaser was founded in Germany in 1957. The company has long prided itself on blending the new with the old. It embraces centuries’ old hunting traditions, while combining them with a passion for innovation in an attempt to develop sensible technological advances.
The R8 line of straight-pull, bolt-action rifles are some of the most popular guns that Blaser makes. They’re available in 16 different model variations and are infinitely customizable. The gun being offered in the Collector’s Elite Auctions is a Blaser R8 Luxus, which they bill as a hunting rifle in the traditional style.
Blaser R8 Luxus
Don’t let the word traditional fool you into thinking that this is just some run-of-the-mill hunting rifle. Blaser doesn’t do that. The R8 Luxus is, even as a base model, a gorgeous gun. Standard features include a black forend tip, Bavarian cheek riser with a double rabbet, a rubber recoil pad, sling studs and a sightless 25.5-inch barrel. Since the barrel has no sights, the gun can be mounted with your choice of scope or optic with no worry about whether or not factory sights will get in the way or possibly need to be removed.
It is in these little standard features that Blaser lets you know that the R8 Luxus is a premium gun. The forend tip offers beautiful yet subtle contrast to the exceptional choice of wood for the stock. The rubber recoil pad allows the gun to be set down quietly, without fear of slipping regardless of the surface.
Blaser offers 11 different grades of wood, with 1 being the most plain and 11 being the highest figured. This rifle is mounted with grade 7 wood. It exhibits a beautiful amount of figuring that perfectly complements the rest of the rifle. It does this without overpowering the other beautiful elements on the gun.
The gun is also equipped with extra upgraded features. These include a gold-colored, titanium nitride trigger and bolt head. It also comes with an engraved steel-gray receiver that features deer on one side and elk on the other. Chambered in .300 Win. Mag., this rifle can easily take down deer, elk and more.
Quality and attention to detail are things that Blaser takes great pride in providing. That’s why all of the highly-tempered steel and forged light-metal alloys used in making their guns are milled from solid blanks on CNC machinery. From there, gunsmiths, stock makers and engravers create truly functional works of art.
If you want to be the envy of your next hunting adventure, then the Blaser R8 Luxus is sure to get it done.
